A Pinch of Maldivian Taste Email response to: President Gayyoom and the Limit$ of Vi$ion
So Gayyoom will be having that ideology and Arab way of doing things with a pinch of Maldivian taste. If one really analyses and does a comparison, his system will be seen to be very similar. After all, the core team in the Maldivian regime are the Maldivian Students Association members who were in Cairo at that time. Whereas Lee Kwan Yew comes educated from Cambridge in the UK. And these are two different way of thinking and doing things. So PM Lee had vision. He thought about his people, he had bright plans for his country. And he did it. Unfortunately we should say KEEHKURAANEE DHOA 'What can we do?'. The new generation is not given the opportunity or is it just they they did not want to take initiative? I think Gayyoom and his colleagues also pressured Nasir, and since Nasir was a rational person he passed on to the next generation and to Gayyoom. We have knowledge and many ways of doing things, but unfortunately we cannot show leadership and show Maumoon the way to get out of this situation. I think we should also try to get justice for people who are suffering as they are not given an equal opportunity for representation in the Maldivian courts. Now Mohamed Nasheed, Mohamed Zaki, Ahmed Didi, Ibrahim Luthufee and all of them and their loved ones are suffering. These people have been under arrest for more than 5 months now. You are doing a remarkable work keep it up. Unfortunately Maldivians living in Maldives cannot see any of the articles. |
