Ameen, Hithadhoo island:
Some people say that you haven't received the public service award because your hair's long. Is that true?
Ali: Most people ask me about that. In reply I can only ask what does my hair have to do with the public service award? Would you answer that question for me first, Ameen?

Niuma:
You are always using taxis, Ali Rameez. How many thousands of rufiyaa do you spend each month on taxis? Give us a serious answer, OK?
Ali: Expenditure varies each month. It cost more when I'm working hard. Are you running a taxi, Niuma? Or are you intending to give me a car?

Nazima from Fua Mulaku:
You were going to act in a film, Ali. What happened there?
Ali: That's true, but later on the deal fell through. Someday I'll make a film, God willing. There's some very good offers around. But I don't think I'll be acting in a lot of films.

Nasheeda:
Ali, we know that before you married Shenny you were carrying on a very intense relationship with a girl from Naifaru island in Lhaviyani atoll. Why did you two break up and why didn't you marry?
Ali: A person can't marry everyone they have a relationship with. Starting a relationship is easy, but marrying is a difficult and complicated matter that a person must think about properly.

Maree:
Before you married Shenny, Ali, you had close relationships with certain girls. What did they say when you married? And what happened to those relationships?
Ali: Well, everyone knew I would be getting married sometime, so I don't see the need for any questions there.

Zulaikha Sameer:
Many people have noticed that some other musicians have made direct or implied attacks on you. But you've never done anything like that during an interview. Why not?
Ali: Those people who can't achieve anything always have to find an excuse. That's the way of the world. It's best to ignore things like that. I don't hold anything against anybody anymore. Whatever someone does, it's up to them.

Hassan Manik:
I have heard that you have a block of land in Maafilaafushi island in Lhaviyani atoll. Why did you select land there? Are you thinking of living in that island with Shenny?
Ali: Taking a block of land there doesn't mean I'm going to live in that island. Everything in my life depends on Malé. But I'd like to be able to stay in Maafilaafushi in a pleasant environment.

Abu Thanha:
If you met Osama bin Laden, what would you say to him?
Ali: The same thing I told him in a dream. That he is the man I support most in this world and, 'I'm very happy to meet you, shall we go for a coffee?'

Shimla:
Let's say that Osama bin Laden contacted you, Ali, and he says to you that you are thin like him, and you should grow a beard and moustache like his and go to where he lives. What would you say to that?
Ali: There aren't many things I wouldn't do for Osama bin Laden. He is a noble man and I wish him a long life.

Faiz:
What's the secret behind you distributing your holy songs madhaha cd for free all the time? Is it because no-one would buy it if you tried to sell it?
Ali: I give away the madhaha cds for religious reasons; as a gift to my fans and for those people who enjoy listening to madhaha during the fasting month.

Khaleel:
Some people say that entertainers lose their strength because they stay awake at night and sleep during the daytime. What do you say to that, Ali?
Ali: I don't think that time has anything to do with weakness. It's weak not to be punctual, and not taking care of required tasks, and being lazy.

Khaleel:
When you're performing, if the crowd is being too noisy, would you get upset and stop everything and pack up and leave the show?
Ali: I perform for the crowd, not for myself. So I'm not disturbed by their shouting and enjoyment. It gives me even more pleasure.

Naee:
Do you think you made a mistake, marrying so young?
Ali: If you knew my real age perhaps you wouldn't be asking that question.

Naee:
Do you ever think of getting a second wife?
Ali: Some of the men I know, who have married two wives, live a pitiable life. It makes serious problems for the first wife. Even if I wanted to marry a second woman, I would only do it if Shenny agrees. I often wish I could fly up to the clouds we see at sunset too.

Someone said you are now related to Mohamed Kaleem. Is that true?
Ali: I'm not aware of anything like that.

Sheneeza:
Why do you always wear No:4 black trousers? It looks like you only have one pair? Why is someone as famous as you wearing only one pair, I want to know, and why are your trousers so loose, and what's the secret behind wearing shiny trousers?
Ali: Because I always wear black trousers, that may be the reason it looks like I only have a single pair. The brand isn't important but having them loose is just right for me. I always find it difficult to wear new clothes.

Sheneeza:
When we see you on TV your hairstyle and appearance isn't very clean and neat. Why don't you make yourself a bit nicer?
Ali: It might look like that because I don't wear any makeup. But this is the first time I've heard someone say I'm not clean! I try to be neat and clean at all times.

Nafiu:
I heard from a reliable source that you don't play music at home. That's hard to believe. Why don't you?
Ali: Even though it's difficult to believe, it's true. I don't like playing songs, except when I'm recording a new song. Then I sometimes listen and if there's something that's not quite right I can fix it. Otherwise I don't play music at all.

Didi:
You've been married for three years now, why haven't you had a baby yet?
Ali: When the time comes, I'll work on it.

Aisthu:
You've got Shenny to resign from work and stay at home. Is that because you love her so much, or is it because you're afraid of losing her?
Ali: Shenny is very busy at home, and now she bakes cakes for a living. If you need a cake please contact her.
